Welcome to Robson Garden Maintenance

Hello my name is Gordon Robson. I am the owner of Robson Garden Maintenance. My wife Cheryl and I set up the company in early 2017 to serve customers in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

As a company we are focused on providing the best possible service to our customers.

We currently maintain 220 gardens on a fortnightly schedule and 120 one off jobs per year.

You might have received a leaflet through the door or found our website on Google and now you are trying to work out if Robson Garden Maintenance is the company you can trust to maintain your garden.

I have made this website to help you make that decision.

Unlike a lot of trade companies, we want to be fully transparent. We believe a prospective customer should have as much information to hand as possible before asking us to maintain their garden.

January & February

In the coldest months of the year we focus on garden projects and small landscaping jobs. All our team have years of landscaping experience and in the winter months we put this to good use. We mostly do winter work for our regular customers but can do one-off jobs as well.

March & April

In March and April we start maintenance for our 220 regular customers. We also treat, scarify and topdress 60 lawns before the end of April. These are our busiest months so please get in touch in the winter months to make sure we can fit your garden into our schedule.

May to September

Between May and September we focus entirely on regular maintenance. During this time we rarely take on new customers and have a waiting list. During these months we don't do one off jobs or projects.

October to December

In October we start to prepare gardens for winter. This mainly involves pruning and leaves collection. We also plant up spring bulbs and start one of projects. We have some customers that get our teams do an annual winter tidy or large hedge cut in these months.

AVAILABILITY

We have learned over the years that we can't say yes to all enquiries. Sometimes people live too far away from our bases in Gorebridge and East Calder and occasionaly we have enquiries in the growing season regarding landscaping jobs that we can't schedule in. To prospective customers that we are unable to serve we recommend contacting Stephen Paul for garden maintenance, landscaping and tree surgery services.

The main things we take into account when working out if we can agree to maintain a garden on a regular basis are,

Do we have customers close by to minimise our travel time.
Parking - We have a large van so we can't park in some areas of Edinburgh
Access to the back garden. Our insurance does not cover us to move equipment through houses

I can not recommend them highly enough. They always turn up, are pleasant to deal with, easy to contact if you need to. For us they maintain our lawns and do most of the weeding. This year they brought our lawns back into lush weed-free greenery after my trying to manage them the previous year. Fergus has just done a terrific job of removing the terror of creeping buttercup all along the back edge (sneaking in from next door) of a twenty-five foot long border. That's a real challenge. "Initially providing garden maintenance at our previous home, Gordon did an excellent job in getting it looking especially good for our house sale.

When we moved to our new home, the substantial back garden was a steeply sloping neglected tip, littered with general rubbish from the redevelopment of the house. Gordon set about clearing the rubble and debris, levelling the garden with 24 tonnes of soil boxed in with railway sleepers (Gordon made the calculations to ensure a properly engineered structure), then preparing borders and laying lawn to give us a beautiful - and useable - outdoor space. When it also became apparent that our decking (provided by others) turned into 'a bouncy castle' as soon as you walked on it, Gordon came up with a solution which involved him crawling under the decking for hours to secure every plank. Having completed the rear garden, he went on to maintain the garden regularly (including the massive double hedge round the property, and power washing the large Monobloc driveway at the front).

Completely trustworthy (we were always happy to leave house keys with him when we went out), reliable and punctual, Gordon’s positive, helpful and friendly attitude shines through in everything he does. We would be more than happy to recommend him."
